Market

Here are our crammed tables! We had so much stuff! It thinned out through the day. My best sellers were clippies and skinny scarves. Trina sold out of her ephemera packs. I stole the best one before they sold. Overall we had a great day. The weather was perfect, and the zombie watching was great.
Sweet Katy got me these Texas earrings from the booth next to us. I think I'll wear them all week since the Rangers won the ALC on the day I put them on.
Trina from Feed the Birdies has THE BEST found paper and collage goodies. She says this is only the tip of the iceberg! How cute are her bookmarks? We trade a lot if you can't tell. Check out her awesome vintage finds here.

deep ellum market

Katy's table! She almost sold out of her hand knitted wash cloths.
Here's my clippie mannequin. Alligator clips are the popular choice.
Trina wins best display. If it weren't for the wind, her paper magnolia flowers would have made it even cuter. These are her vintage paper packs and journal kits. I am so jealous of her paper hoarding abilities. I need some of these to give away to my collage kids as prizes.
Here are my bitsy skirts. I had lots of 'tweens hunting for their size. I'll have to make some apron tops and skirts for that age group.
Crayon packs and F-bombs were a hit. My Aunt Connie makes these cheeky F-bombs. People that work in offices love them. I think they're good for throwing from cubicle to cubicle. Overall we had a blast (other than the windy/chilly morning weather). We will definitely be back in June. We are all teachers and May is a busy time of year for us. So come see us in June. We'll have lots of new goodies! Thanks to all my buddies and family that came out to support.

getting ready for market

 yo-yo production whilst watching Bones.
I've made three skirts for little girls. I am guessing they are a 3T-5Tish. Thanks to elastic.
I made another round of yo-yo's with vintage buttons. These are on alligator clips due to several requests. I myself don't really wear clippies, but I am addicted to making them.
Savannah prissed in my room with her birthday dress on (made by yours truly!). Those are skulls if you can't tell. She added a skinny black belt which made it so chic. I never would have thought of that. Tonight it's more bitsy skirts and whatever else I can make with my scraps. I have promised myself not to buy any more fabric until after Saturday. Be sure to come see us at the Deep Ellum Market this Saturday!

another pillow

I finished up another vintage quilt square pillow. This square was rounded, so I had to add some corners. I have a few more projects to finish up before next Friday. Katy and I are doing an employee bazaar at Moroch Advertising. I have napkins, a purse, and hopefully a couple mug rugs to finish/add to my inventory. Oh, and I started using my rotary cutter. Do those scare you like they do me? I feel like I am going to slice my finger off. So far I haven't.

Handmade Ginger take two.

Yesterday's Denton Community Market was a success. With a ten degree temperature difference, the vendors doubled along with customers. Katy and I had a blast and sold lots of stuff. We had the best fish and chips from this cool double decker food truck. We hope they come back next month. We will definitely be selling our goodies. I have some major knitting to do. Hopefully I can squeeze in more sewing as well. The next market is Saturday, October 9th!

The Market

The Denton Community Market was a success. We sold some stuff, earned some scratch, and had fun. It was way too hot. By 1:00pm, Katy and I had enough. When we first set up, we didn't realize we needed our own tent. Bobby Heath came to the rescue with his Dallas Cowboys tent. We definitely had the biggest tent. Our sign was slightly out-shined by our Cowboys logo. Oh well. We will definitely set up shop again when it cools down. Until then, shop Etsy!

Craft Fair

The craft fair was great. There were tons of cute things, but I wasn't moved to buy anything. I thought prices were high. When you take all the cute things and put them all in one room, you see how many people are doing the same exact thing. I got some ideas for some headbands and some dress construction but that's about it. My favorite part of the fair was leaving to go eat burgers at Sandy's. After we ate, we were way more inspired and less judgemental. I think we were hangry.

Where Am I?

I'm in Austin with my best girl, Cathy Jo. Iced coffees, yummy dinners, living room dancing, cruisin', whole foods, fabric shopping, crafting, getting inspired, stealing ideas, and hopefully not getting sunburned.
