Home Again

It's good to be home. Ten days is about my limit away from home. I got right back into my summer routine of crafting and Netflix (current obsession: Crossing Jordan). I have tried to dial back the baking and have been obsessively knitting wash cloths instead. My next market isn't until October, so there is no reason I shouldn't be fully stocked. I just listed these sets in my shop in case you are in need of a baby or housewarming gift! Back to work! As always, thanks for stopping by.

scarving

I photographed some of my scarves today. My assistants kept making my model giggle. I call this The Many Faces of Cadence. I think she is smizing in a couple of these.

Scarves

I've made some scarves since the market. Check them out on Etsy!

catch up

Mini scarf/necklace out of a small ball of cotton-this is very Halloween.
 scrap hat
napkin set that's part of a wedding gift.

I've been playing catch up to get some serious crafting done. I love to craft, but when you're on a deadline, procrastinating is bound to happen. I finally got all of my wedding/birthday gifts finished (5 gifts to be exact!) That paired with knitting and clippie production for the October market has had me pressed for time. I'll be out of town for another wedding this weekend, but I'll pack my yarn and needles to squeeze in some knitting. Have a great weekend!

Eye Candy

Here's Katy (my favorite knitting buddy) and me at the Amarillo airport. Our flight was delayed, so we did some tandem yarn balling.

Gorgeous yarn from Hill Country Weavers in Austin
(my other knitting buddy, Macy)
I think the more I knit, the faster fall will arrive, don't you think?

 Cotton/poly blend skinny scarf
 Highlighter hat
Merino wool/silk blend in a double drop stitch

I wrapped up a few projects this weekend in Austin. I have lots to do before the October 15th Deep Ellum Market. I hope you can stop by and visit Trina and I. If you're the lazy type, visit our shops online! See Trina's awesome vintage scores here. You know where to find me.

Knit Photo Etsy

I had one of my students model for me during class so I could list some of my knits on Etsy. Isn't she cute? These are some of my favorite shots. Visit my shop to see the rest. I also put a ton of stuff on sale for the end of summer. Check it out!

knitting season

It's knitting season! I can't stop. I have so many sewing and knitting projects going on right now I'm actually scheduling them out so I can get them all done in time. I have birthday gifts, wedding gifts, and a few custom orders. It's good to be busy. I got this super soft Spanish combed cotton at Woolie Ewe at the beginning of the summer. These wash cloth sets will be part of my wedding gifts.

Summer Doin's

I made PW's Avocado Egg Salad. Mine turned out more like a dip, but tasted amazing on baguette with tomato. Great summer lunch/snack.
I'm still making bracelets and marathoning law and order episodes (SVU of course).

My auntie and I went to the Woolie Ewe for the first time. I have always known about it, but I can't resist those Joann coupons. I like to go to nice yarn shops when I am going to knit something special, usually for myself. I didn't realize that it was so close to my Moma's house (.2 miles). It's in the old Music Manor location, I couldn't believe it! Music Manor was quite the hot spot in high school. I picked up 3 skeins of variegated combed cotton. Connie Sue and I did a little happy dance when we were realizing how much cotton they had.
The best part of the trip was when I used a gift card I received back in December. I had no idea how much was on it. Cha-ching, $40!!!! Thanks, Mary B! So I have some left over! I'll definitely be back.

Snow Day #5!

I have done some major washcloth knitting. Some for me to use as gifts, some for my S-I-L.

I finally finished the quilt top! I had to do some seam ripping because my squares weren't lining up, but I finally got it.
Here it is basted and folded up. I chose a solid gray for the backing. I had trouble smoothing it out all by myself, so I am bringing it to school tomorrow to have the kids hold it on each corner so I can baste it again.

Oversized Cowls

These are so fun to make. The cranberry one already went to California, the navy is going to Kansas City tomorrow!

Washcloths

Taking a much needed break from sewing, I started a couple wash/dish cloth sets for my Memaw. These are 100% cotton. I can see some serious dish or baby scrubbin' with these.

Scrap Cowl

Happy Weekend! I finished my scrap cowl, watched the Cowboys,  Rachel Getting Married, and Layer Cake. Hank and I ate at Toulouse (my favorite), and he sanded down the top of my door so it actually shuts now.  It only took me eleven years, but I finally got Homey a bed. He's a fan. It only took one spritz of catnip spray. The last pic is of Miss Katelyn Claire of Boston aka the perfect new grand baby of my number one blog reader. (Hi, Mr. M!)
