Dear Family

Some excerpts from Dear Family:
April 13, 1980
Tuesday. It was nice talking to you today Mom. Nothing much to write about so I guess I'll close with some cute sayings. I was putting T.J.'s pajamas on tonight after his bath so his hand didn't slide right through because he was still damp and he said "There's little T.J.'s hand!" as it finally came through.
Earlier after Randy had said "no" to David's request to play in the garage, David said, "Daddy can I play in the garage? You say, 'yeah.' That's the nice word." Randy started to talk and David said, "Daddy, don't talk when I'm talking to you."

You know I told you that we were going to have T.J.'s picture made. Well the appointment is this Thursday. Last night T.J. fell off the swing set somehow and got a mouth and nose full of dirt. Later after his bath I noticed that his nose was swollen and red. I sure hope it goes down before Thursday. It is not real noticeable. I don't guess a picture would really show the real Edmondson in him unless he had some sort of bump or bruise.

I left David watching Sesame Street while I dressed the other two and made beds. Well, as I worked my way to the living room I came upon a trail of styrofoam pieces. David had shredded a miniature light box. I said "get down here right now and pick this up." He said, "I was making crouton." My son the chef.

My Heart is Full

I've had two moments in the last two days. On Memaw's birthday, as she looked at all of her family, she leaned over to me and whispered, my heart is so full. I have never heard anyone say that before. I have been thinking about it ever since. When does that happen to me?
Last night as I was driving home I saw the most beautiful sunset. I tried taking a picture of it while I was driving and decided that it wasn't the smartest idea. So I had an even dumber idea to pull over on a bridge on 75 and take the second one.
Tonight, as I was leaving a super boring meeting, my phone rang. Liz and I had one of our classic gab sessions. I sat in the parking lot for 45 minutes while we caught up. After we hung up the phone and I started to drive home, I felt it again.

V-day Memories
I had the idea for this valentine as I was driving home from a soccer meeting. I was thinking of the most significant Valentine's Day moments in my life. I managed to never have a boyfriend on Feb. 14th, so I could only think of two. The first one was in tenth grade. My bffs and I used to rock out to American Pie by Don McLean on my record player. We knew every word and even had a little routine to act out each verse. My favorite verse was "I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck, with a pink carnation and a pick up truck, but I knew I was out of luck, the day the music died." Brent Germany showed up after school with a dozen pink carnations and got down on one knee and asked me to "go" with him. I said no.
My second memory happened a couple of years ago. I gave my valentine one of my extra special hand made/collaged with super cool stuff/hipster cards. Two days later I found it in our recycle bin.

Fish Eye Discovery

I was so happy to have my fisheye back, I didn't even notice it had a roll of b & w film inside! I processed it and found some kitty pics and some random bus photos from VASE. That would put this roll at February of last year. Oops!

Framed In
Here's my entry for the Framed In prompt at Creative Type. I used a cyanotype background and framed a photo of myself that I took at the London airport at 4 am. (jet lagged and needing to forge a rail pass) I put my photo on top of my friend Joe's. Even though my name was Mr. Joe Mount, it worked. I think I was about 20 years old at the time.
